Mask-y Holidays

Last weekend, one of the ladies at my barn said, “McGee – I know what you should write about for your next blog post! You need to write about sustainable masks. Sustainable masks not only help the environment, but they also sustain our health; and they’re a fashion statement!” Well, Vickie, this week’s blog post is for you! I scoured the Internet to find three sustainable masks that, I believe, are worth the investment. As Vickie declared, masks are absolutely essential to protecting ourselves and our loved ones from the coronavirus; so, if we’ve got to wear them, we might as well like how they look too!

Graf LantzShinyu Organic Cotton Face Mask

Shinyu, which translates to “close friend” in Japanese, will certainly become your new go-to accessory. Made with a double layer of 100% organic cotton, it includes a noseband and a filter pocket to ensure that you’re extra protected. For every mask sold, Graf Lantz donates 10 meals to Feeding America.

AvocadoOrganic Cotton Face Masks

For starters, Avocado is an amazing company. A certified B Corporation, it goes above and beyond to ensure that its masks protect both you and the environment. Each mask is handmade in its Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified studio in Los Angeles with GOTS certified 100% organic cotton. It also includes a filter pocket for extra protection!

TentreeThe Protect Mask

Another certified B Corporation, Tentree has created a mask that excels at protecting us and the environment. Its masks are made from recycled and repurposed materials – hemp, organic cotton and recycled polyester. It’s double-layered construction also has a spot for a filter to keep you even safer.

As we head into the holidays, be sure to wear your mask and maintain distance between yourself and your loved ones. The holidays are supposed to be a time of celebration and gratitude – keep them cheerful by keeping yourself and your loved ones safe.

Much love to you all. I hope you have a Happy Holiday and a wonderful New Year.

Bye for now,

McGee
